CHICKEN NOODLE CASSEROLE
Ingredients:
4 lbs. chicken (4 cups)
1 (8 oz.) pkg. fine noodles
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup flour
5-6 cups chicken broth
1 (10 3/4 oz.) can cream of mushroom soup
1 cup cheddar cheese, grated
Buttered bread crumbsBoil chicken until tender. Remove skin and bones and cut meat in bite size pieces. Cook noodles in chicken broth for 5 minutes. Drain and reserve broth. To make sauce, melt butter, stir in flour, and slowly add broth, cooking until slightly thickened; add salt and pepper to taste. Grease a 3 quart casserole, and layer chicken, noodles, cheese and sauce; repeat layers. Cover with buttered bread crumbs. Bake 30 minutes in 350 degree oven. Serves 10 to 12.
