ONION APPLE BAKE
Ingredients:
1 1/2 lb. tart apples
4 TBLsps. butter
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1 large onion
2 Tblsps. brown sugar
3 TBLsps. soaked currantsPeel, core and slice apples thinly. Line bottom of a casserole dish with 1/3 of the apples. Coarsely chop the onion and saute in 3 tablespoons of butter, until translucent. Turn off heat and add brown sugar, currants and cinnamon. Put half of the mixture on top of the apples, then add 1/3 more apples, the rest of the onion mixture and the remainder of apples. Dot with butter. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Serves 6 to 8.
