SMOKY BARBECUE SAUCE


Ingredients:
1/4 cup vinegar
1/2 cup water
2 TBLsps. sugar
1 TBLsp prepared mustard
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cayenne
1 thick slice lemon
1/4 cup margarine
1 sliced onion
2 TBLsps. Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 tsps liquid smoke (optional)

Combine above ingredients in saucepan. Simmer uncovered 20 minutes. Add Worcestershire and liquid smoke. Bring to boil. Remove from fire. Yield: 1 3/4 cups. Excellent as marinade and basting sauce for chicken, spareribs, lamb, etc.
